Dear League Secretary:
It’s about that time again to start thinking about the upcoming bowling season! The league supplies for the 2010-2011 season have arrived and the league packets are being prepared. We’re planning to have them available for you to pick up at your bowling center no later than Friday, August 6th.
The dues stay the same at $18.00 for this season. The $18.00 is made up of $10.00 USBC national dues, $7.00 Arbor Valley USBC local dues and $1.00 State WBA or $1.00 State BA dues. Please use the yellow league dues worksheet we supply in your league kit.
The special achievement awards program has changed significantly. The average criteria have been raised so that more bowlers will qualify for awards. If you are using league secretary software it will need to be upgraded. The association will reimburse your league up to $30.00 for an upgrade and up to $50.00 for new league secretary software. Just send or email a copy of the invoice to the association office.
The non-smoking issue will be a challenge. You will need to work with your smokers to get an agreement on what can and can’t be done during the league session. Now is the time to plan your pre-season league meeting and beat the bushes for more bowlers. Let’s use the non-smoking issue to get back bowlers who may have quit because of that issue. If you need mailing labels of bowlers who have quit your league let me know and I can produce those.
See page five (5) of the Playing Rules book for changes to USBC rules for this season. The Playing Rules book will be used for two seasons, 2010-2011 and 2011-12. Don’t throw away the Rule Book after the season is completed. Also, the end-of-season USBC league awards are included in your league kit. They won’t be mailed as previously done.
